Materials: 2008 Stock Data, Wood, Aluminum, 3D Prints, Software, Electronics, Projector or Screen, and Sand

Description:
“Stock Weather II” fuses the global economy and ecology. The sculpture uses data from stock exchanges, commodities, and companies from the year 2008 to control fans in a specially designed wind tunnel.
The wind of the global economy acts on sand to create a miniature desert landscape. An embedded camera scales up and projects a real-time view of this evolving landscape.
The resulting vista of the desert at dusk allegorizes global capitalism through the invisible dynamics of the wind and economy that shape our lives.
